Persevere (hupomenó) means to stay behind, to await, endure and remain.

Hope, specifically, is in the promises that God has made about working in us in sanctification through to glorification.

Our desire to keep loving people, particularly those who cause us despair, requires that we have faith in God for them.

God loves us. His love protects, perseveres and never fails. He never gives up on us.

Of all the ‘truth’ that we can rejoice in, God must come first.

Rejoicing in the truth begins with a celebration and emphasis on the gospel.

Could you say that your daily life is marked with noticing and celebrating what is good and true?

We are called to be ‘salt and light’ in this dark world. It’s only as refuse to celebrate evil and rejoice with the truth that we do this.

The warning for all of us is obvious I hope: If Jesus has forgiven our great debt, how can we fail to forgive others?

Forgiveness or confession is, I believe, a forgotten practice for many Christians. Forgiveness is something that we are to do each day.

True love -Christian love (Apapé) - keeps no record of wrongs.

God’s slow anger is birthed out of His love.

We can all feed our anger or defuse it each day.

What are the things that anger us? Are we concerned for the things that are of concern to God?

Quick anger is inconsiderate. It breaks relationships. Quick anger only leads to regret.

Being quick to anger and godly love cannot easily coexist.

If we are not actively seeking to crush selfishness, it will grow like a weed in our lives.

Jesus was not selfish! He lived every day of His earthly ministry with a ‘your will be done’ attitude.

Love is not self-seeking. Love is others seeking. Love considers the needs of others.

The love of God is not rude. Our conduct in the church and in our communities should be marked by consideration of the other.
