Welcome to this Come to Jesus Daily Devotional where we are continuing in our Wisdom for Life series from Proverbs.
Today, from Proverbs 3:27-30, we reflect on how wisdom and kindness always go together.

‘Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbour, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”— when you already have it with you. Do not plot harm against your neighbour, who lives trustfully near you. Do not accuse anyone for no reason—when they have done you no harm.’ (Proverbs 3:27-30)
In our last devotional on 3:21-26, the emphasis was on the benefits that wisdom gives to us. It gifts us, among many things, safety and good sleep. However, wisdom also benefits others. It gives gifts to us, but through us, it is a gift to others because the wise will be kind.
God’s wisdom teaches us to do good to those for whom it is due. It teaches us to pay our debtors in a timely fashion rather than procrastinate. Beyond this, wisdom also teaches us not to harm our neighbours. As we can see, wisdom leads to a healthy community. Much strife is caused through those who refuse to repay their debts, and those who falsely accuse others. Both of these sins are unwise and derive from a failure to ‘fear God’ - to trust in Him. If we don’t have faith in God, or our faith is weak, we can hold onto money out of fear. Likewise, if our faith is weak or missing, we can use deception and accusation to get our way.
Are you and I wise? Do we fear God and trust Him? Does our relationship with God free us from fear, greed, and attacking others? True wisdom always leads to faith and kindness.
Let’s pray together
“Father, I thank you that you know my needs. I can seek you for provision, leading, and protection. Forgive me when I’ve sought security in wealth and attacking others. Today, I commit myself to trusting you, paying my debts, and being kind. Amen.”

6. Let’s pray together:
Let’s pray for one another based on our study, and bring before God any other needs or requests for prayer.
Pray for one another's SIV opportunities and boldness in following the Spirit's promptings.
Pray specifically for the 'people of peace' in our lives—asking God to open hearts and provide opportunities to speak life and truth.
