#172 – SHINE BY BEING BLAMELESS AND PURE (18/8/20)

‘Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky ’ (Philippians 2:14-15).

Grumbling and complaining will make us dark stars. These behaviours are symptomatic of unbelief. Israel, after leaving Egypt, ended up wandering in the desert for forty years because of their grumbling and complaining through unbelief! We must take warning!

Being ‘blameless and pure’, however, is symptomatic of faith. A life of faith will trust God’s character and word in dark times. Blameless and pure speak of outer and inner devotion to God - a life of integrity. Such people show the beauty of Jesus through their conduct.

RESPONSE

Do you grumble and complain? How would faith in the love and work of Jesus help you to stop this? I encourage you to be mindful of the way you talk and avoid all gossip, slander and complaining.
