This text is a good summary of the theme we’ve been considering this week, that Paul wrote,

‘I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.’ (Philippians 4:11-13)

God’s dreams receive God’s gifts. He gives us difficult gifts (‘in need… hungry’); He gives Good gifts (‘plenty’ and ‘well fed’); and He provides His power (‘I can do all things through His strength’).


Paul says, ‘I have learned to be content’. We are all in the process of being matured by Jesus. He is teaching us to deal with, embrace and learn to be content in every season through the strength of His presence.


RESPONSE

Take some time to meditate and pray out of Philippians 4:11-13.
